Teeth whitening is a great way to enhance the aesthetics of our teeth. It is natural for our teeth to discolour over time and this is more so true depending on your type of lifestyle e.g. red wines, coffees, smoking etc. It is recommended that you brush regularly which will help improve your overall hygiene and offer some protection against staining. If your teeth are discoloured and brushing is not helping the shade of your teeth lighten, then this may require a whitening treatment.
We offer a few different options that can help improve the looks of your teeth. The most common packages we offer are a home whitening kit (trays and gel) or with the use of zoom laser whitening. Both of these treatments as a standalone can help give your teeth the lift they deserve. For the best results, that encompasses the best of both worlds, combination whitening is a popular treatment that includes both systems.
After you have had your free consultation and accepted treatment, the 1st part of the treatment will be to take impressions of your teeth, which will be used to make the whitening trays. The impressions will be sent to the dental lab to be made, ready for the next visit which will be the in chair power laser whitening.
The second visit will be when you have your teeth whitened and brightened by the in house zoom laser. We take your safety very seriously and will use safety glasses and a protective barrier on your gums. The length of this treatment generally takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. After the last cycle has completed we will fit your home teeth whitening trays (loaded with whitening gel) so you can begin your home whitening on your way home.
The home whitening part of the system is to be used for 10-14 days consecutively for a set period of time. Your dentist will advise you how many days to do and for how long.
On the last appointment we will review your teeth to ensure you have achieved the results you wanted. To top up and maintain your white teeth, you are able to then carry on using your home whitening kit (we will advise on whitening best practices and how often/little you will need to do so.)
