Inlays and onlays are treatments that bridge the requirement gap between fillings and crowns, and will depend on how severe your cavity is.

Why Would You Need Either An Inlay Or Onlay?

An inlay or onlay can be used for:

Moderate teeth decay (less severe cases may be more suitable to have fillings)Slight tooth fractures (in more serious cases dental crowns will be required)
One of the most common first symptoms you may notice that can lead to needing an inlay or onlay is toothache.

Onlays are external fabricated fillings that covers the tip of the tooth horizontally

What Is Involved In The Treatment?

During the procedure the patient will have very minimal discomfort and the dentist will carefully remove the decay, in preparation for the inlay or onlay.

We will take an impression of the prepared tooth which will then be sent to a lab for the custom inlay and onlay to be fabricated.

When the inlay or onlay is back from the lab, the dentist will carefully fit it to the affected tooth/teeth.

A short time after it was time for my crown work to begin and this was carried out by Dr Gursh who whitened my teeth and sorted out my new crowns which look so natural against my other teeth and a perfect fit first time,another top professional who cares and is passionate about getting that perfect smile, you cannot tell they are crowns amazing.
