How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

The home whitening kits we offer are custom made trays (similar to mouth guards), that are then used to put your chosen whitening gel into the grooves of the trays (our dental team will show you the correct technique). The trays are then worn for a specific amount of time (our dentists will advise you on how long to wear at a time) over a period of days (again our dentists will advise). The gels used will cover the surfaces of your teeth and will help lighten the shade of the teeth over a set period of time – results can be seen as quickly as two weeks!

Zoom Whitening

This is an in-chair whitening treatment that uses the zoom technology and whitening gel to brighten your teeth. The patient has the gel and protective gear in place before the zoom laser is directed on to the teeth that are being whitened. The laser/heat then activates the special formula in the gel to brighten your teeth in just one session. The zoom experience does give the patient faster and more noticeable results than the home kit but the effects are not as sustainable as the home version, which then leads us on to the next treatment.
