What Are Teeth Extractions?

This is the term used to describe when a tooth needs to be removed from a patients mouth.

Visited this practice as an emergency needing a tooth extraction ( which my own dentist said they couldn’t do) saw Laura who made me feel at ease and tooth was extracted with in 20 mins at half the price I was quoted from my own dental practice.. cannot praise this practice enough for there professionalism and caring attitude. Why Would You Need An Extraction?

If the tooth has irreversible damage and cannot be saved, and it is in the best interest of the mouth, the tooth will have to be removed.

It is always our last resort to remove a tooth though, and we will try to save them before deciding to extract. Your natural teeth are always the preferred option over tooth replacement treatments.

What Can Lead To An Extraction?

The main factors that can lead to an extraction are:

Badly infected teeth that can’t be saved
Additional teeth that block other teeth coming through and appear alongside the regular teeth
Advanced periodontal disease
Abscesses
Fractured teeth that can’t be repaired

Does My Tooth Need To Be Extracted?

If your having problems with one of your teeth and something doesn’t quite feel right, we recommend booking an appointment so we can have a look at the tooth and see what is exactly causing the problem. Modern tooth restorations are very good, but they will never compare to the real tooth, so we always extract as a last resort.

Extractions With Sedation

Having your tooth extracted can be a scary idea for many patients. We are able to offer IV sedation for patients who are especially nervous. This allows the patients to be put into a state of blissfulness which will make them forget the treatment all together. The patient will be concious and able to speak and respond to questions, but they will not be able to remember the treatment and will need someone to take them home afterwards.

I had been advised by my previous dentist that implants were probably not an option for me after losing several teeth. I decided to pursue looking for an implant specialist in the Tamworth area where I now lived. Finding Ascent and reading the very positive reviews I arranged a free consultation with Faresh. After a very informative discussion a treatment plan was put together for me detailing all the options available.

I was delighted to know that in fact I was suitable for implants and made a decision to go ahead. I was guided by Faresh and his team as to what would happen at each stage of my treatment plan. My implant journey began in December 2020 during Covid times and everyone at the practice were meticulous with cleanliness procedures providing reassurance to the patients.

It is now April 2021 and my implants are in and looking and feeling AMAZING!! I can now smile once again with pride and confidence. It is one of the best things that I have done and thank Faresh and his exceptional team for the kindness care and guidance that I received.
