What Is The All on 4™ System?

All on 4 is a dental implants system by Nobel Biocare. This system works on the principle of anchoring in a full lower/upper set of teeth with 4 implants. This is with 2 implants that are placed straight into the anterior region of the mouth (front) and two subsequent implants that are placed at an angle in the posterior of the jaw (back), to then securely hold your new teeth in place.

  • Less likely to need a bone graft
  • Quicker treatment times as the prosthesis (restoration) is fully loaded immediately
  • Fixed & removable restorations are available
  • Computer guided software is used for the accurate placement of the implants
  • Helps to prevent any further bone loss in the mouth
  • All on 4 has been scientifically documented and proven

All on 4 Procedure

The procedure used for using the all on 4 system is quite different to a traditional placement of dental implants. By having 2 of the implants placed at a certain angle, the bridge of the mouth will be supported by the stronger part of the jaw, which has higher bone density.

With any implant cases the location of the placement of the implants is very crucial for the long term success of the treatment. The implant dentist needs to take into account many factors that can effect the best locations to place the implants. The planning stage of any implant case is very important to ensure the best possible result for the patient. By using the angled implants into the posterior region, the implant dentist can use the higher bone density of the front jaw for maximum stability. The restoration that is put on top of the implants will be a fully loaded fixed bridge, which are attached to the sockets of the implants and secured in place.
