What Are Metal Dentures?
Metal dentures are made using a metal bottom casting instead of a plastic material. This can either be a modified metal base or the standard base. Standard bases do include a part of the metal to be in direct contact with the mouths soft tissue. The material used in this metal is non-allergic and is a medical compatible alloy.
The modified metal denture is still a metal base denture, but doesn’t use a metal on any bits touching the soft tissue of the mouth. This is an important modification as it is always preferred to not have metal in direct contact with the soft tissue. This is achieved by using a plastic liner between the metal bits and supporting tissue. Both hard and soft plastic can be used for this – with soft being the preferred choice. The main drawback of this, it needs redoing annually.

I had been advised by my previous dentist that implants were probably not an option for me after losing several teeth. I decided to pursue looking for an implant specialist in the Tamworth area where I now lived. Finding Ascent and reading the very positive reviews I arranged a free consultation with Faresh. After a very informative discussion a treatment plan was put together for me detailing all the options available.
I was delighted to know that in fact I was suitable for implants and made a decision to go ahead. I was guided by Faresh and his team as to what would happen at each stage of my treatment plan. My implant journey began in December 2020 during Covid times and everyone at the practice were meticulous with cleanliness procedures providing reassurance to the patients.
It is now April 2021 and my implants are in and looking and feeling AMAZING!! I can now smile once again with pride and confidence. It is one of the best things that I have done and thank Faresh and his exceptional team for the kindness care and guidance that I received.

Couldn’t fault this dentist. Chipped my tooth and they got me in same day to check if it could be fixed and even managed to fix it there and then, for a fraction of the price I was expecting. Dentist James was brilliant along with all the staff I encountered!
Would recommend 110%. I found the clinic based on the proximity to my house and Google reviews. Extremely good experience (especially considering you’re going to the dentist office!). I was booked for an emergency visit with Dr Jesal Savania, whom I would highly recommend. I had a wisdom tooth removal, which I didn’t expect to happen on the day of the visit. I had a similar procedure done 10 years ago, which was very painful and traumatic. Dr Savania is a compassionate, professional dentist who calmed me down and he did the procedure in record time, with absolutely no pain. I came back to Dr Savania a few weeks after for a general check up – he is probably the best dentist I have been too and will definitely go back.
I recently had composite bonding treatment on my lower front teeth and i am very happy with the results. Laura was very professional and friendly and i would highly recommend this practice.

I had a crown prep done today at Ascent and I can’t say enough good things. Didn’t even feel the injection to numb my mouth and the whole team made me feel at ease and calmed any nerves I had. Was a very easy process, and I was able to pay for the crown with their payment plan which made the whole thing a lot easier. Very happy with my choice to join this dentist a few months back. Definitely recommend.

My biggest fear – the dentist chair. After 4 attempts to have a filling i finally found a dentist who could actually make me feel relaxed enough to go through with it. Jas (the dentist) really was patient and amazing! Would never go anywhere else. Really do give 10/10 for all staff!
